KPN Mooiste Contact Fonds provides elderly people with an unforgettable Christmas dinner

Six hundred elderly people who struggle with loneliness will enjoy a fun Christmas evening with 200 KPN volunteers in Groningen, Amersfoort, and Rotterdam.

Social contact is at the heart of the Mooiste Contact Fonds. The initiative brings people together and makes it possible for everyone in the Netherlands to be in contact with others – especially those for whom this is not always easy. As such, the fund is organizing an unforgettable, music-filled evening for 600 elderly people at three locations in the Netherlands, with a sumptuous Christmas dinner and real social contact with each other and some 200 volunteers.

The guests mostly come from the three cities where these evenings are celebrated. They will be picked up and taken to the festively decorated KPN locations for an unforgettable evening. Mark Versteegen, director of the KPN Mooiste Contact Fonds, explains: “With Christmas just around the corner it’s important to remember that not everyone is able to celebrate the festive season with loved ones and enjoy a festive meal together. That’s why we organize these Christmas dinners and invite people who struggle with loneliness to come and celebrate Christmas with us.”

The Christmas dinners will take place in Groningen on December 11, in Amersfoort on December 12, and in Rotterdam on December 13.

About the KPN Mooiste Contact Fonds
For more than 16 years, the KPN Mooiste Contact Fonds has been reconnecting people who lack social contact with the world around them. The fund supports initiatives by various social partners that are aimed at stimulating social contact for vulnerable groups in society. The fund uses knowledge, ICT, resources and people (KPN volunteers) to change that.
