KPN improves film offering with Pathé Thuis

More than two million households will soon be able to rent films on-demand from the Pathé Thuis film offer via KPN TV. As a result, KPN’s film offer becomes larger and even more up to date. From 1 July 2021, Pathé Thuis will become a partner for the delivery of all on-demand rental films on KPN platforms.

Thanks to this new collaboration, KPN customers will soon be able to choose from more than 3700 films. “We want our customers to be on the front row seat when it comes to the best and latest films, freshly released from the cinema. That’s why we are pleased that we can give them access, via KPN TV, to Pathé Thuis’s wide and diverse range of films,” said Jochem de Jong, KPN’s Director of Partnerships. The Pathé Thuis film offer will be available for all consumers from 1 July, via the existing KPN TV menu.

The collaboration means that the Pathé Thuis range will be accessible for even more households. “For years it has been our wish to work with KPN, in addition to our direct offer, so that we can also serve KPN TV customers. Thanks to the cooperation with KPN, we can reach an even bigger audience with our offer,” said Thomas van de Weerd, CEO of Pathé Thuis.

In recent years, Pathé Thuis has become the market leader in online rental films in the Netherlands. The current selection is expanded weekly. The service now has 1 million paying households and in 2021 it rented out more than 7 million films, with an average of 2.2 viewers per film.
