More control over internet use with parental control in the MyKPN app

KPN introduces parental control in the MijnKPN app, as part of KPN SuperWifi. Parents can now easily set in the app when and how long their children use the home wifi network per device. With this new functionality, KPN aims to help families manage internet usage more easily. 

With parental control, parents can precisely determine at what times devices – such as gaming consoles, tablets, or smartphones – are allowed to connect to the wifi network. For example, a weekly schedule can be set so that the wifi is automatically paused during dinner or after bedtime. It is also possible to apply a daily time limit, so that children are not online longer than agreed. Handy for parents who want to prevent their child from gaming late into the night. 

More control for families over their digital home 
The introduction of parental control fits within KPN's ambition to give customers more control over their digital home. “Sometimes it is tempting to put your child behind a screen for a moment, so you can cook or send that one email in peace. At the same time, we see that children's screen time is increasing, and many parents are concerned about that. Parents indicate that they need more overview and control over their children's digital behavior. With our new functionality, we want to help parents with that. This way, they can make clear agreements with their children about screen time and adhere to them more easily. And it works, of course, for adult housemates as well," says Robin Clements, responsible for consumer marketing at KPN.
