KPN's networks tested as the best in the Netherlands; mobile even best in the world

Benchmark organization umlaut: KPN customers use the best network at all times, best broadband and mobile network inside and outside the home and office.

The Dutch fixed and mobile internet is of world class, according to the network tests of the German Connect Magazine, carried out by benchmark organization umlaut, part of Accenture, which annually assesses the quality of networks all over the world. KPN was declared the winner of the test with both its fixed and mobile network compared to the other Dutch providers. KPN's mobile network is even the best tested network in the world, winning on all aspects and with 980 of a total of 1000 points, it has the highest score ever.

Good news for the Netherlands, which scores high as a digital economy and, partly thanks to its excellent fixed and mobile network infrastructure, is well on its way to becoming the best connected country in the world. Telecom networks are an important driver for further digitization bringing continued growth to the Netherlands in the coming years. with roll-out of fiber networks in full swing and the faster 5G spectrum (3.5 GHz) is on its way.

Best fixed network in the Netherlands
The quality of the fixed internet connection and network experience is determined by more factors than only fiber. In-home solutions and good WiFi are also important, which is why it is good that Connect Magazine looks at the broader internet quality for its comparison. In the research not only the average download and upload speed is measured, but also the latency and stability of the various fixed networks are taken into account. Internet via KPN's network came out best, with a score of 944 out of a total of 1000 points, partly due to continuous investments in the network and the quality of the WiFi in the home. Ziggo and T-Mobile follow in second and third place respectively. The scores are based on millions of data from smartphones and tablets of users of the different providers.

Best mobile network in the world
The Dutch mobile networks have also been extensively tested by umlaut Connect. In addition to user tests, the research is mainly based on technical network measurements. The quality of the mobile network has been measured in numerous places in the Netherlands, such as all large and medium-sized cities, provincial roads and more remote areas. KPN's mobile network has again been tested as the best. With the highest score ever achieved, 980 out of 1000 points, KPN is not only the best in the Netherlands, but also in the world. There is no other country in the world where the mobile network is as good as in the Netherlands. KPN scores best in all categories, such as 'voice', 'data' and 'crowd', and further expands its lead over number two T-Mobile. Vodafone finishes third.
