KPN is kicking off the 2024 sports summer

The summer of 2024 will be a hot sports summer. With the European Football Championship in Germany, the Tour de France and the Olympic Games in France and numerous other tournaments and championships, millions of viewers at KPN will fully enjoy sport at the highest level.

Sports enthusiasts do not have to miss anything through both the standard TV offering and the additional sports and streaming packages. You can watch live in the best quality. For example, KPN offers the European Football Championship in UHD quality. This way you stay even more focused on the ball.

“From Dutch football at the European Championship to the F1 race in Zandvoort, sports fans will hardly have time to lie on the beach this summer,” said Jochem de Jong, Head of Entertainment and Partnerships at KPN. “Although, thanks to the KPN TV app and our mobile network, that does not have to be a problem.”

KPN is also present in the host cities during the European Football Championship, where the thousands of Dutch fans are accompanied from the Oranje campsites in fan parades to the UEFA fan zones, where the matches can be seen on a big screen.

This is how you can watch sports on KPN this summer

There's a lot of sport to look forward to, so we've listed the biggest events:

• European football (1 June Champions League final)

The largest European football tournament for clubs culminates in the final on June 1. Which best-performing club in Europe can hold the cup high this season? You can see it live on RTL 7 at KPN. KPN is also the right choice for the coming seasons of European football. You watch all your favorite Dutch clubs from the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League at KPN, without having to switch.

• European Football Championship (June 14 – July 14)

Top football of the highest order: 24 countries, including of course the Dutch National Team, will kick off the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany. 51 matches, spread over 10 stadiums in 10 cities, will determine who can hold up one of the most coveted cups on July 14. The European Football Championship is broadcast by NOS and can be seen on KPN in UHD quality.

• Roland Garros (May 20 – June 9) & Wimbledon (July 1 – 15)

Tennis fans can also indulge themselves this summer: the absolute top of the world will appear at Roland Garros (Paris) and Wimbledon (London) to win a Grand Slam. Tennis fans don't have to miss an ace, because both NOS and Eurosport broadcast the matches.

• Tour de France (June 29 – July 21)

From June 29, the world's largest cycling race will travel straight through France. The Tour de France is followed by millions of enthusiasts every year and at KPN they don't have to miss a second of, for example, Mathieu van der Poel or Wilco Kelderman: the NOS, Eurosport and the Belgian Sporza broadcast the stages daily.

• Olympic Games (July 26 – August 11)

This summer, the Olympic flame will arrive in Paris for a new edition of the world's largest sporting event. Of course TeamNL is there, with Dutch top players such as Femke Bol, Sharon van Rouwendaal and Sifan Hassan. The matches are broadcast in the Netherlands by NOS and Eurosport.

• Formula 1 in Zandvoort (25 August)

The Formula 1 circus will visit the Netherlands again in 2024. With the Zandvoort dunes as the backdrop, Max Verstappen will do everything he can to cross the finish line first for the fourth time. The millions of people who want to see this match can watch live with Viaplay at KPN.

Lots more sports to look forward to

With the European and global tournaments that can be seen live on KPN every day this sports summer, the end is not yet in sight. Formula 1 – which can be viewed via Viaplay – continues the season after Zandvoort in Italy, Azerbaijan and Singapore. The national football competitions will kick off again from mid-August with the Eredivisie, the British Premier League and the German Bundesliga.
