KPN helps parents with knowledge about online shaming and sexting

At the start of the new school year, KPN organized several online parent evenings Piece of me last month about online shaming and sexting (abuse) together with Rutgers, Victim Support Fund, SOA Aids Netherlands and expert Francien Regelink. During these sessions, parents, grandparents, caregivers and teachers were informed in a simple way and they received tips and tricks on how to discuss these sensitive subjects with their children. The parent evenings are part of the BeterInternet campaign with which KPN is committed to a more social, safer and greener internet. With Piece of me with the song by Meau, KPN emphasizes the message think before you forward.  

In addition to two online webinars, in which viewers could participate interactively, the broadcast was shown several times on Beleef TV (channel 41). In this way, almost 13 thousand households participated in these sessions. Now everyone in the Netherlands can watch the broadcast.

Also at schools, information lessons about online shaming

In addition to the online parent evenings, KPN is offering more than 60 information lessons on online shaming for Dutch secondary schools this year. The lessons are given by experienced expert Francien Regelink and are free of charge for the participating schools. For example, Francien recently stood next to MEAU at the Vechtstede College in front of almost 300 third-year students and together they passed the proverbial baton in the fight against online shaming.
