KPN extends partnership with KNVB until 2030

Now that the Dutch national team is entering the Round of 32 after a strong group stage at the World Cup, KPN is extending its sponsorship agreement with the KNVB until June 30, 2030. This ensures that KPN remains associated with the Dutch national team, the Orange Lionesses, the KNVB, and Dutch football across the board for longer.

Precisely at a time when millions of Dutch people are following the Oranje team at the World Cup, KPN and the KNVB are making clear how they will be working together in the coming years. Within the extended sponsorship agreement, they are focusing on three areas: a strong and reliable digital foundation for the KNVB, an improved digital fan experience for the Oranje and the Oranje Leeuwinnen, and support for amateur football with practical digital solutions.

Together behind Orange

The extension builds upon the existing sponsorship and IT partnership. KPN will continue to provide connectivity and digital support within the KNVB organization. In addition, KPN and the KNVB are working on digital applications that enhance the fan experience surrounding the Dutch national team and assist amateur clubs with their further digitalization.

Joost Farwerck, CEO of KPN: “A tournament like this shows just how much football connects the Netherlands. In such situations, you need to be able to rely on the infrastructure working. Thanks to our networks, millions of people can follow the game without delay and share their football moment instantly. With the KNVB, we are continuing to build a partnership in which technology supports football and connects people.”

From top-level football to amateur clubs

The sponsorship relationship focuses on the full breadth of Dutch football. In addition to the national team and the women's national team, extra attention will be paid to amateur clubs. KPN and the KNVB are exploring how digital solutions can practically assist clubs, both organizationally and sportively. In this way, the impact of major Orange moments should also become visible at clubs throughout the country.

In addition, KPN and the KNVB are continuing to focus on digital channels, including E_Oranje, the KNVB's Gen Z platform. In doing so, they are responding to how new generations of fans follow football: live, digitally, and always connected.

KPN Mooiste Contact Fonds

In addition, KPN and the KNVB continue to invest in initiatives that contribute to more inclusive football. Through the KPN Mooiste Contact Fonds , the growth of Walking Football at amateur clubs is supported, aimed at actively involving older people at risk of social isolation.

Long-term collaboration

The new agreement runs from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2030. KPN remains 'Partner of Football'. Running parallel to this is the integrated IT and telecom collaboration, which forms the basis for further digitalization and innovation towards 2030.
