KPN again official partner edivision

Summary

Starting this season KPN, lead sponsor of the Eredivisie, is committing itself to the edivisie as Official Partner. In fact, this is a recommencement of the partnership: KPN was previously Official Partner of the edivisie in the seasons 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. KPN is committing itself to the official EA SPORTS FIFA 21 competition of the Eredivisie and DreamHack Sports Games for two years, with an option for a third year. Areas in which it will be visible include the gameplay and the social posts of the edivisie.

The link between KPN and the edivisie is a logical one. KPN is lead sponsor of the Eredivisie, and with its Official Partnership with the edivisie is now focusing even more on a younger target audience. And fiber optics is extremely popular among gamers.

In the years ahead and in close collaboration with the edivisie KPN will produce several content formats for the edivisie community and gaming fans outside it. With edivisie players in the lead, KPN branded items will be displayed every week on the edivisie Instagram account and KPN will also offer high-quality campaign-based video formats.

“As sponsor of the Eredivisie and the KNVB, KPN has been involved intensively in Dutch football for many years,” says Mark Versteegen, responsible for sponsorships at KPN. “We support the sport across the entire spectrum, ranging from the Eredivisie, the Dutch men’s national side and the successful women’s team to local amateur clubs. The sponsorship of the edivisie is a great addition to our football partnerships, allowing us to reach a large number of young gamers. Esports is actually one of the world’s fastest growing sports communities. With our superfast and stable fiber-optic network and 5G, the quality of gaming via KPN is second to none.”

“We are delighted to welcome KPN as our new Official Partner for the edivisie,” says Roger Lodewick, CEO of DreamHack Sports Games. “In partnership with KPN we look forward to connecting even more people and reaching an even younger audience for the Eredivisie clubs, players and spectators. KPN is an icon in the provision of support for sport in the Netherlands and we couldn’t be happier to have them on board as our partner.”

“Along with my colleague Arnoud Schonis I look back with pleasure and pride on KPN’s previous period as partner, particularly the success of the KPN edivisie Cup,” adds Marc Rondagh, Business Development Manager at the Eredivisie CV. “It was a fantastic success, with more than 5,500 Dutch EA SPORTS FIFA 19 players registering. We look forward to an even more successful partnership and are extremely proud that a third premium brand has committed itself to our competition.”

Starting on Tuesday, November 17, the edivisie can be seen live on the edivisie YouTube channel every Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 pm to 9.15 pm.
