The ball keeps rolling between KPN and KNVB

Extension of partnership until 2023

KNVB and KPN have once again agreed to extend their many years of cooperation. This was announced today with a symbolic video in which hundreds of ‘Oranje’ balls were delivered to KPN.

“KPN is a valued partner and in recent years has helped further develop football”, said Jean Paul Decossaux, Director of Commerce at the KNVB. “I am talking about connecting footballers and fans and certainly also about innovation, such as the connectivity in the VAR room on the KNVB campus in Zeist. In addition, the management of our national teams is increasingly using the KPN Data Services Hub, which provides them with relevant information about the performance of players. Partly because of these kinds of innovations, I think it is wonderful that we will continue to work together in the coming years, both in top and grass-roots sports.”

KPN is also happy with the extension. “We remain loyal to the KNVB and we are committed to an even broader collaboration”, says Mark Versteegen, KPN’s Director of Sponsorship. “As the network of Dutch football, we are, of course, there for ‘Oranje’ (the Dutch national team), and the Oranje Lionesses. More than ever, we are also focusing on new developments, such as E-sports and gaming, with our collaboration with E_Oranje. And, together with the KNVB, we will collaborate intensively with the KPN Mooiste Contact Fonds by giving vulnerable groups access to Dutch football.”

Through its collaboration with the KNVB, KPN customers can discover the sport in a variety of ways: with free match tickets, 'Train like Oranje’ football clinics at the KNVB Campus, and various giveaways. KPN organizes a variety of sporting activities on the 'Oranjepleinen' – the places where supporters gather before matches.

As a partner of the KNVB and the Eredivisie, KPN has been involved intensively in Dutch football for years. KPN supports the sport across the board, from the Eredivisie and the national team to the successful Lionesses. With the sponsorship of the eDivisie, and more recently E_Oranje as well, KPN is also able to connect with Dutch gamers.
