KPN lowers prices for business internet

Good news for business internet users. KPN will make the top speeds of its KPN EEN SME Internet subscription more accessible with a substantial price cut. New customers will soon receive 1 Gbit/s for the current price of 100 Mbit/s – a tenfold increase in speed. Prices for 100 and 200 Mbit/s will also be reduced.

“The COVID pandemic has made it abundantly clear that a fast and reliable internet connection is indispensable,” says Boris van Beek, Director of SME at KPN Business Market. “This is certainly true for the corporate sector in the Netherlands; moreover, many entrepreneurs are in the midst of digital transformation, which has only accelerated as a result of the pandemic. Video calling, uploading and downloading large files, working in the cloud, and making calls over the internet are making ever greater demands on internet connections. On top of that, we are all connecting more and more devices to the internet. This is why we are making our high-speed internet subscriptions more accessible. In doing so, we can help entrepreneurs move forward and future-proof their business.”

Fiber
KPN is currently rolling out fiber in the Netherlands at record speed. Almost half of all addresses in the country now have fiber. This means that many entrepreneurs are also benefiting from internet at the speed of light. Where fiber is available, SMEs can choose from three different speeds – namely 50 and 200 Mbit/s and 1 Gbit/s with symmetrical download and upload speeds. For addresses where fiber has not yet been installed, the choice is between 50, 100 and 200 Mbit/s via copper.

By 2026, KPN will have connected another 2.5 million addresses to fiber throughout the Netherlands. And thanks to the recently launched fiber company Glaspoort, many more connections will be made in around 1,000 villages, small residential hubs, and 1,400 business parks. KPN customers will be transferred to fiber for free in places where it is available and can choose higher speeds if desired.

Staying connected
The KPN EEN SME Internet subscription offers entrepreneurs not only high speeds but also Extra Safe Internet and 4G Backup as standard, which ensure that entrepreneurs always have secure online access. All devices the customer connects to KPN EEN SME Internet are automatically protected by the KPN network thanks to a DNS and web filter. The customer does not have to install anything for this. A dongle with a SIM card ensures that in the event of an internet outage on the fixed network, the modem automatically switches to KPN’s 4G network. This way, entrepreneurs can always stay connected.
