KPN extends main sponsorship of the Eredivisie

KPN will remain the main sponsor of the Eredivisie through the 2024/2025 season. This was announced today at the start of the Eredivisie season. And it is going to be a special season, as the Eredivisie is celebrating its 65th anniversary. This is good news for Dutch football enthusiasts and for KPN TV customers, because they will be able to watch Eredivisie matches in the basic package via ESPN’s main channel.

Frank Rutten, Managing Director Eredivisie Media & Marketing: “KPN and Eredivisie football each have the ability to connect people across the country in their own unique way. We are therefore pleased to be able to add a new chapter to the rich history between KPN and the Eredivisie. We look forward together to a wonderful 65th Eredivisie season, with spectacular football and with as many spectators in the stadiums as possible.”

Mark Versteegen, Head of Sponsorships at KPN: “Football, which is and remains the biggest sport in the Netherlands, has the power to connect people. We are delighted to continue our main sponsorship of the Eredivisie. In the coming years, we will continue to make a positive contribution to football, starting with an anniversary season full of celebrations with the Eredivisie and all football fans.”

KPN and Eredivisie are the perfect match
KPN and the Eredivisie have been a perfect match for years. From 1990 to 2002, KPN was the main sponsor and the league even carried KPN’s former name, the PTT Telecompetitie. In 2014, KPN again partnered with the highest Dutch football league and, since the 2017/18 season, is once more the main sponsor. This partnership has now been extended for the next four seasons, with an option for another year.

KPN is intensively involved with Dutch football and supports the sport across the board, from the Eredivisie, the national team, and the successful Lionesses, to local amateur football clubs. With the sponsorship of the eDivisie and E_Oranje, KPN is also able to connect with Dutch gamers.
