KPN team of hackers wins world championship

Summary

The ethical hackers of KPN (Sector C), who ensure on a daily basis that KPN remains secure, became world champions at the finals of the Global Cyberlympics, triumphing over more than 130 other teams of hackers.

The Global Cyberlympics is a prestigious international cybersecurity competition in which the skills of information security professionals are tested in the field of ethical hacking, computer networking and forensic research.

Having won the preliminary rounds, the KPN team was one of the top winning teams that were invited to play the game live at the global finals in Atlanta, USA. It was a great success. After nine thrilling hours, the KPN ethical hackers’ team (Sector C) won the Global Cyberlympics 2018.

KPN last reached the finals in 2015, having to content itself with second place as the result. Following that experience, the team was extra motivated to secure the title this year.
